Derrick Usher

Derrick Usher has over 17 years of work experience in various software engineering and quality assurance roles. Derrick worked at SphereCommerce, LLC from 2017 to present, where they served as Lead Software Quality Engineer, managing task assignments and generating reports on departmental activity. Derrick also led audits of department test plans and created an automated testing framework for multiple company products. Prior to that, Derrick worked at TrustCommerce from 2008 to 2017, starting as a Quality Engineer and later transitioning to a Software Engineer role. In those positions, they ensured compliance with industry standards, performed testing using white box and black box methods, and created automated testing frameworks. Before joining TrustCommerce, Derrick worked at Google as a Software QA Engineer, testing and documenting Google's Audio Ads system. Derrick also contributed to the development of testing tools using Python, Java, Selenium, and TestNG. Preceding their time at Google, Derrick worked as a Software Engineer at APS Technology Group, where they developed libraries in C# and analyzed system errors using Java. Derrick began their career at UCSD Medical Center, serving as a Programmer/Analyst and Web Developer, developing sites using Cold Fusion, JavaScript, and CSS.
