Ruben McFarlane

Sphinx Lead Fellow (cohort 7) at Sphinx Organization

Ruben McFarlane currently serves as the Director of Community Engagement and Partnerships at Castle of our Skins and as a Sphinx Lead Fellow with the Sphinx Organization, focusing on empowering the next generation of executive arts leaders. Previously, Ruben held various roles at PostClassical Ensemble, including Education Programs and Partnerships Manager, Education Programs Coordinator, and Education and Community Engagement Programming Fellow. Ruben is also the General Manager of the New England Philharmonic and has maintained a private viola and violin teaching practice since 2013. Additional experience includes serving as the Department Coordinator of Academic Affairs at Berklee College of Music, Cantare Administrative Programs Manager at Boston City Singers, and a Middle School Strings Teacher at Prince William County Public Schools. Ruben's teaching background also includes conducting and teaching positions with the DC Youth Orchestra Program and Fairfax County Public Schools. Educational qualifications include a Bachelor of Music and Bachelor of Music Education from Penn State University and a Master of Music in Viola Performance from The Catholic University of America.
