What We Do
Spidey Tek is a deep-tech biomaterials company building a scalable platform to produce real spider silk proteins using bioengineered alfalfa. Our technology enables industries to replace petroleum-based materials with high-performance, sustainable alternatives, without sacrificing cost, scale, or performance.

The Problem
Industries such as automotive, aerospace, construction, and apparel face mounting regulatory and consumer pressure to decarbonize. Existing biomaterials are often expensive, difficult to scale, or underperform versus petroleum-based inputs. As a result, companies need materials that are simultaneously strong, scalable, cost-effective, and climate-aligned.

The Breakthrough
Spider silk is one of nature’s strongest and most versatile materials, but it has historically been difficult to produce at industrial scale. Spidey Tek solved this by genetically engineering alfalfa, a perennial & carbon-sequestering crop, to express spider silk proteins at scale. This plant-based system outperforms fermentation and animal-based methods on cost, yield, and sustainability.

Product & Platform
Spidey Tek’s core offering is a spider silk protein platform that can be tuned for multiple applications, including industrial adhesives, composites, fibers, coatings, and medical materials.

Traction & Validation
The platform is protected by multiple patents and grounded in decades of peer-reviewed research led by the world’s leading spider silk scientists. Spidey Tek has active LOIs and development discussions with global industrial players including Covestro, Siemens, and Lululemon, signaling strong market demand.

Impact & Vision
Spidey Tek replaces carbon-intensive materials while actively sequestering CO₂ through agriculture, making sustainability profitable at scale. Our vision is to establish spider silk as a new global material standard and reshape trillion-dollar industries for a low-carbon future.
