Ed Clark

Ed Clark, C.M. served as Group President and Chief Executive Officer of TD Bank Group from 2002 until his retirement in November 2014. During his career, he was chosen twice by Barron’s magazine as one of the World’s 30 Best CEOs and has been celebrated for his philanthropic work. He was inducted as a Companion of the Canadian Order of the Business Hall of Fame in 2016. In 2014, Mr. Clark was elected to the Board of Trustees of the Brookings Institute. In 2010, he was made an Officer of the Order of Canada, one of the country's highest distinctions.

Mr. Clark is a Director of Thomson Reuters and he is also Chair of the Vector Institute, an independent non-profit institution dedicated to Artificial Intelligence (AI). He is also a partner in Radical Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on AI Firms.

Mr. Clark has a BA from the University of Toronto, and an MA and Doctorate in Economics from Harvard University. He has also received honorary degrees from Mount Allison University, Queen's University, Ryerson University, Western University, York University and the University of Toronto.

Ed Clark is not considered to be an Independent Director as he provides advisory services to the Majority Principals. Mr. Clark is a Majority Principal Nominee.
