Ryan Kimura

Ryan Kimura has a diverse work experience, starting with their current position as Director of Product at SPINS since 2022. Prior to this role, they served as the Director of Strategy & Innovation at SPINS, and before that, as the Director of New Products, starting in 2018.

Before joining SPINS, Ryan worked at HandCut Foods as the Chairman of the Board since 2014. Ryan also has experience at Local Foods, where they co-founded and served as the COO of the Consumer Business, overseeing the Local Foods retail market and the Butcher & Larder Grill from 2016 to 2018. In addition, Ryan was a co-founder and CFO of Local Foods from 2013 to 2016, leading finance, accounting, HR, and technology operations.

Ryan has also been involved in various board roles, including serving as a Member of the Board of Directors at Next Bites (formerly Green Chicago Restaurant Coalition) from 2012 to 2014 and at Slow Food Chicago from 2008 to 2011.

Earlier in their career, Ryan gained experience at Deloitte as a Manager/Sr. Consultant, where they were part of an innovative internal joint venture strategy team. Ryan also worked as a Senior Consultant/Consultant at Deloitte from 2006 to 2011. Prior to that, Ryan had an internship at Abbott Laboratories in the IT department.

Before entering the corporate world, Ryan founded and served as the President of Sonic Productions from 1999 to 2005.

Ryan Kimura attended the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign from 2002 to 2006, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. During the same time period, they also studied Psychology at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and received a Bachelor of Science degree in the field. In 2001, Ryan briefly attended Georgetown University as a Presidential Classroom Scholar, focusing on Global Business & Public Policy.
