Rohin Parkar

Rohin Parkar has a diverse work experience spanning various roles in the technology industry. Rohin co-founded and served as the CEO of Spintly, a company focused on wireless product development. Additionally, they co-founded Mrinq Technologies, a wireless product development and technical consulting company, where they held the position of CEO. At Mrinq Technologies, they developed IoT solutions for lighting control, access control, smart buildings, and asset tracking using BLE mesh technology.

Rohin also worked at Broadcom as a Senior Staff Engineer, where they designed and developed compact reference designs for WiFi applications targeted for the IoT market. Rohin resolved technical issues and successfully introduced new stable IoT reference designs into the market.

Prior to Broadcom, Rohin worked at RF DSP Inc. as a Principal Hardware Engineer, contributing to technology development for next-generation base stations for 5G cellular networks. Rohin was responsible for the design and development of hardware for the implementation of a Massive-MIMO system using beamforming.

At Nokia, Rohin held multiple roles. Rohin served as an RF Project Leader, where they led the design and development activities for wireless base station products. Rohin also worked as an RF Design Engineer, responsible for designing, testing, documentation, and ramping up production for 3G/4G-LTE cellular base station products.

Before Nokia, Rohin worked at Tata Consultancy Services as an RF Engineer, providing RF circuit design and testing services for telecom companies, with a focus on GSM/EDGE base stations.

Earlier in their career, Rohin served as a Scientist C at BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Center) in India, where they contributed to the development of RF Linear accelerators.

Currently, Rohin is a member of the Thread Group, where they are involved in adopting and driving a wireless mesh standard for applications in access control and building automation. Rohin is also a member of the Bluetooth SIG.

Rohin Parkar completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Organizational Leadership and Marketing from the Naveen Jindal School of Management at UT Dallas from 2010 to 2012. Prior to that, they attended the Goa Engineering College, approved by the Government of Goa, from 1997 to 2001 and obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (BE) degree in Electronics and Telecommunication. Before their undergraduate studies, Rohin completed their HSSC (Higher Secondary School Certificate) in Science from Goa Vidyaprasarak Mandal's Dr. Dada Vaidya College of Education in Ponda between 1995 and 1997. Lastly, they received their high school education at Model English High School in Margao, Goa from 1989 to 1995.
