Peter Countryman has over 30 years of work experience in the fields of scientific research, engineering product management, and teaching. In 1989, they began their career as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. In 1991, they moved to UGM Medical Systems as a Research Physicist, where they developed and applied corrections and improvements to image reconstruction algorithms. In 1995, they joined the University of California, San Francisco as an Assistant Adjunct Professor in the Osteoporosis and Arthritis Research Group, where they led a team in the development of software for large-scale pharmaceutical trials and researched automated and semi-automated algorithms for analysis of radiographic images. In 1998, they began working at Synarc Inc. as a Senior Engineering Product Manager. Finally, in 2009, they joined Spire Sciences as a Scientific Director and Senior Scientist.
Peter Countryman received their B.S. in Physics from The University of Dallas in 1980, following their studies from 1976. Peter then went on to Stanford University, where they earned their Ph.D. in Physics in 1988.
