Phil Haberek

Phil Haberek has a comprehensive work experience in the field of cybersecurity and information technology. Phil is currently working at Spirion as a Cyber Security & Information Technology Manager since June 2023. Prior to this, they worked at Crown Castle for six years from November 2017 to June 2023, holding the positions of Senior IT Security Analyst and SOC Analyst - Tier 3. Phil was responsible for conducting phishing campaigns, providing training on security best practices, and educating employees.

Before joining Crown Castle, Phil worked at Lightower Fiber Network, which was later acquired by Crown Castle. Here, they served as the Cyber Security & Compliance Manager from August 2015 to November 2017. Their responsibilities included employee training, knowledge of security programs, and compiling monthly metric reports.

Phil's previous experience includes working at Fibertech Networks as the IT Operations Manager from October 2008 to August 2015. Phil built, led, and managed a lean IT team, oversaw corporate IT services, and successfully executed multiple complex projects.

Phil also worked as a Systems Administrator at Choice One Communications from July 2007 to October 2008, where they managed over 200 Microsoft Windows servers and performed regular upgrades on in-house software.

Before that, Phil served as a Senior Network Administrator at ABVI-Goodwill from October 2004 to July 2007, maintaining workstations and servers in a Windows environment.

Phil started their career as a Network Specialist/Sr. Desktop Support at the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rochester from February 2004 to October 2004. Phil provided primary network and desktop support for Catholic schools and handled computer lab deployments.

Lastly, Phil worked as a LAN Administrator at Stearns & Wheler, LLC from November 1999 to February 2004. Phil configured and deployed Windows 2000 servers, managed domain controllers, and facilitated regional office deployments.

Phil Haberek graduated from the State University of New York College of Agriculture and Technology at Morrisville in 2003 with a Bachelor of Technology degree in Information Technology - Network Administration. In terms of additional certifications, Phil obtained the Splunk Core Certified User certification from Splunk in September 2021, the GIAC Security Essentials Certification (GSEC) from GIAC in October 2016, and the CCNA CyberOps certification from Cisco in March 2018. Phil also obtained a Soft Skills for Information Security Professionals certification from LinkedIn in February 2023.
