Patrick Thorpe is an experienced professional in process control and engineering, with a career spanning over three decades. As the Managing Director of Spiro Control Ltd since August 2012, Patrick founded the company to deliver specialized consulting and technical support services to the refining, petrochemical, chemical, and energy sectors. Previously, as Managing Director of IPCOSAptitude Engineering Solutions from October 2008 to July 2012, Patrick established a team of process control and software engineers in India. With a background as Operations Director at Aptitude and advisor roles at Aspen Technology, Patrick has extensive expertise in model predictive control and advanced process control projects. Earlier experiences include roles at Invensys, Exxon Chemical, and Courtaulds Research and Engineering, where Patrick developed applications and systems for various industrial processes. Patrick holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Loughborough University and a BEng in Chemical Engineering from Teesside University.
