Joseph Shimerdla has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and responsibilities. Joseph'smost recent role is as a Narrative Lead at Splinterlands, where they design a narrative vision for the brand, leads a team of five in content development, and contributes to copywriting for the website and other mediums. Prior to that, they worked as a Narrative Designer at Splinterlands.

Before their time at Splinterlands, Joseph served as the Branch Chief at USSOCOM from December 2018 to February 2022. In this role, they provided a comprehensive understanding of global Special Operations Forces employment to the Commander.

Joseph also had experience at US Army Africa, where they served as a Division Chief responsible for decision support tools, analytic studies, and providing study guidance and mentorship.

Earlier in their career, Joseph worked as a Senior Analyst at TRADOC Analysis Center, where they led efforts in developing planning guidance scenarios and conducted analysis of equipment, systems, and force performance.

Joseph also held roles such as Chief of Operations in the 212th Fires Brigade, Deputy Director Of Operations in the 1st Armored Division, and Chief of Operations in the 3-501st Assault Helicopter Battalion, where they were responsible for operations planning, resource allocation, and supervision of personnel.

Joseph's experience also includes positions at 1st Army Division East, Multi-National Force - Iraq, and 1-223rd Aviation Regiment, where they held various leadership and operational roles.

Joseph Shimerdla attended the United States Military Academy at West Point from 1994 to 1998, where they obtained a Bachelor's Degree. Joseph pursued a dual field of study, focusing on European History and Systems Engineering.
