Sean Lucq

With 20+ years of experience in technology retained search, Sean has played a key role in 300+ successful executive search projects since joining SPMB in 2000. As one of the firm’s fastest-tracked employees ever, Sean began leading search projects end-to-end by 2006. Among his other contributions, Sean helped architect SPMB’s research-driven methodology, an entirely unique approach at the time—and today widely replicated throughout the search industry.

Over the past two decades, Sean has built a successful search practice that specializes in identifying and placing top engineering, technical, and product leadership at the most innovative companies across the growth spectrum. He’s witnessed firsthand how these roles have developed over time and how they continue to evolve in real-time, which allows him to prepare his clients for what’s next. Sean’s integrity and professionalism, paired with his level of unwavering engagement in every project, are qualities consistently attributed to him by clients and candidates alike.

A Bay Area native, Sean graduated with honors from the University of California Davis, where he completed the pre-med program and earned a B.S. in Biological Sciences and a minor in Managerial Economics. He currently lives in Los Gatos, CA with his wife, three boys, and West Highland White Terrier, Paisley.
