Will Mayo

Will Mayo is the Founder and Chief Strategy Officer at SpokenLayer. Will has over ten years of experience in audio production, design thinking, and entrepreneurship.

Will started their career as an Engineering Teacher at Johns Hopkins University. Will then became the Prototyping & 3D Printing Lab Supervisor at Lehigh University. In 2010, they left academia to start AUDIOis Inc, a cloud-based audio company. In 2013, they were selected to participate in Matter’s inaugural class, an intensive five-month bootcamp for entrepreneurs. Will applied Stanford University’s principles of Design Thinking to entrepreneurship and learned how to build scalable media ventures. In 2016, they left AUDIOis Inc to start SpokenLayer.

SpokenLayer is a media platform that transforms written content into high-quality audio. It is used by leading publications such as Forbes, The Huffington Post, and Time magazine. SpokenLayer has been featured in TechCrunch, The New York Times, and on NPR.

Will Mayo has a MS in Computer Engineering and Ergonomics from Lehigh University and a BS in Electrical Engineering and Product Design also from Lehigh University. Will also attended Chase Collegiate.
