Raphael Brandon has extensive work experience in the field of performance science and innovation. Raphael is currently the Head of Performance Science at Sportable and also runs their own consultancy, Raphael Brandon Ltd. Previously, they served as the Head of Performance Science - Europe at BreakAway Data. Before that, they worked at the England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB) as the Head of Science, Medicine & Innovation, where they provided performance support and medical services to the national teams. Raphael also has experience at the English Institute of Sport, where they held various roles including Director of Performance Solutions and Head of Strength and Conditioning, leading science, medicine, and innovation services for GB Olympic & Paralympic sports.
Raphael Brandon holds a PhD in Muscle Physiology from the University of Stirling, which they earned from 2007 to 2011. Prior to that, they completed an MSc in Sport Science at Brunel University London from 1995 to 1997. Raphael'sacademic journey began with a BSc in Psychology from The University of Manchester, where they studied from 1991 to 1994.
