Account Manager at Sportlight Technology

Chris Difford's work experience includes various roles in the sports industry. Chris started their career as an Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach in Swindon Town Football Club's academy in 2015. Chris then worked as a Men's Football S&C coach at the University of Gloucestershire, where they provided support and training sessions to the team.

In 2016, they joined Bristol City Football Club, initially as an Academy Strength & Conditioning/Sports Science Intern. Chris was responsible for monitoring player wellness, leading gym-based recovery and strength sessions, and assisting with on-field warm-up activities. Chris later served as the Lead RTC Physical Performance Coach and the Head of Performance in the Women's team at Bristol City FC.

In 2017, Difford also worked as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at the South West Regional Academy - Netball First. Chris joined The Football Association as a Physical Performance Coach in 2017 and worked there until 2019.

Chris then had the opportunity to work with high-profile teams and organizations. Difford joined Everton Football Club in 2020 as the Women's 1st Team Physical Performance Coach. Chris also had a stint with Football Australia as a National Team Sports Scientist for the Matildas in 2021.

Currently, Difford is an Account Manager at Sportlight Technology, starting in 2022.

Chris Difford attended the University of Gloucestershire from 2014 to 2016, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Sports Strength & Conditioning. Chris then pursued further education at the same university from 2016 to 2020 and earned a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Sports Strength & Conditioning.

Prior to their university education, Chris Difford attended King Alfred's School from 1998 to 2005 and obtained a GCSE A-Level degree.

In addition to their formal education, Chris Difford also obtained several certifications. Chris received an Absolute Speed certification from EXOS in October 2020. In June 2020, they became a UK Anti Doping Advisor certified by UK Anti-Doping. In July 2014, they obtained an FA Level 1 Coaching Award from The Football Association. Chris also holds a CYQ Level 3 Personal Trainer and CYQ Level 2 Gym Instructor certification from CYQ, although the specific dates are not provided. Furthermore, they are a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) certified by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), a certification obtained in July 2017. Lastly, they hold an RSCC certification from NSCA, obtained in April 2020.
