Barry McCarthy is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in finance and business leadership across multiple sectors. Currently serving as the CFO and Global Head of Free Business at Spotify since February 2014, McCarthy oversees legal, corporate development, and the Free Business Unit, which includes ad sales, research and development, and marketing. McCarthy has also held prominent roles as President and CEO of Instacart and as a Board Member for various companies, including Peloton Interactive, Chegg Inc., and Eventbrite. In addition to these positions, McCarthy served as Executive Advisor and Venture Partner at Technology Crossover Ventures. McCarthy holds an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School and a BA in History from Williams College.
