Joel Suomalainen

Joel Suomalainen is currently a Senior Engineering Manager in Security at Spotify, where they lead product security engineering and drive strategic initiatives to enhance security across the organization. With a Bachelor of Science in computer science from Lappeenranta University of Technology, they are also pursuing a Master of Science with a focus on information security at Tampere University of Technology. Previously, Joel held various roles at Spotify, including Senior Security Engineer and Security Engineering Manager, and gained earlier experience as a Security Engineer and Delivery Lead at Riot Games. Their interests lie in leveraging technology to improve lives while ensuring personal privacy and data security.
