Shaorong Yan

Shaorong Yan is a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Spotify since July 2021 and has held the role of Data Scientist at Tapad since February 2020. At Tapad, Shaorong led a project that integrated XGBoost into the production pipeline and investigated the effects of alias churn. Prior to these positions, research experience includes serving as a Research Assistant at the University of Rochester, where neural networks and Bayesian models were employed to study predictive language processing, syntactic structure adaptation, and unsupervised learning in speech. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Brain and Cognitive Sciences from the University of Rochester and multiple degrees in psychology, cognitive psychology, and finance from various institutions, including a Bachelor's degree in Finance and Psychology from Peking University.
