Maria Vaara

Maria Vaara has extensive work experience in the financial industry. Maria started their career as an Actuary at SPP in 2014 and worked in this role until 2015. After that, Maria joined Handelsbanken i Sverige as an Actuary from 2015 to 2017. Maria then returned to SPP and took on the role of Risk Analyst from 2017 to 2018. Maria's responsibilities grew at SPP, where they became the Chief Actuary from 2019 to 2023. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Risk Officer (CRO) at SPP, starting in March 2023.

Maria Vaara completed their Bachelor's degree in Mathematics from Stockholm University from 2010 to 2013. Maria then pursued Actuarial Science at Stockholm University from 2014 to 2017.
