Ben Chase

Ben Chase has a diverse work experience spanning from 2004 to the present. Their most recent position is as a Systems Engineer at Spreedly, where they started in October 2021. Prior to that, they worked as a Network Engineer at WiscNet from September 2018 to October 2021.

Before joining WiscNet, Ben was a Staff Engineer at CTC Technology & Energy from May 2016 to August 2018. From November 2012 to May 2016, they worked as a Senior Network Analyst at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where they were responsible for deploying, configuring, and maintaining routing and switching gear. Ben also gained experience in troubleshooting and process improvement.

Earlier in their career, Ben served as the Technology Manager at Illini Media from July 2006 to November 2012. Here, they performed diagnosis and repairs as an Apple Certified Macintosh Technician and managed a staff of technicians and service assistants. Ben also administered servers hosting various functions.

Their prior experience includes roles such as a Computer Lab Technician at the University of Illinois from April 2008 to December 2008, a Macintosh Administrator at the University of Illinois from January 2008 to December 2008, and a Student Marketing Manager at ILLINI APPLE CENTER from July 2006 to September 2006.

To start their career, Ben worked at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from October 2004 to May 2006 as an Art & Design Checkout Window and Help Desk attendant. In this role, they managed inventory and assisted students in selecting equipment, maintained darkrooms, and monitored the design and print lab.

Ben Chase attended West Aurora High School from 1999 to 2003 and obtained a High School Diploma. Following this, from 2003 to 2008, they studied at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Philosophy. In addition to their formal education, Ben obtained a certification in Unconscious Bias from LinkedIn in December 2021.
