Derek Cerretani

Derek Cerretani's work experience begins with a role as a Blogger at hubze from June 2010 to May 2011. Derek then worked as a Line Cook/Server at Enzian Theater from September 2011 to April 2013, where they prepared food and contributed recipes to the menu. Derek then worked at Blue Kangaroo Coffee Roasters as a Barista, where they excelled in espresso drinks and latte art, and was promoted to a maintenance tech responsible for brewing device upkeep and repair. From 2014 to 2017, they served as the Lead Roaster/Director of Coffee at STOKED ROASTERS + COFFEEHOUSE, LLC. Derek worked as a Production Specialist at Water Avenue Coffee Company from September 2017 to September 2018. Derek then became a Barista at Cartel Coffee Lab from September 2018 to January 2020. Derek's work experience also includes roles at Flatiron School, where they served as a Student Web Developer from January to December 2019, and later as a Technical Coach from January 2020 to August 2021. Currently, Derek is working as an Associate Software Engineer at Spreedly, where they started in September 2020.

Derek Cerretani has a diverse education history. In 2019, they completed a Full Stack Web Development program in Ruby on Rails and JavaScript online through the Flatiron School, earning a Certificate of Completion. In 2013, Derek attended the Portland Code School for a course in Javascript, although they did not obtain a formal degree. Prior to that, from 2009 to 2011, Derek pursued a Bachelor of Arts in English with a minor in Business at Florida State University. Derek began their educational journey at Valencia College, where they obtained an Associate of Arts in General Studies from 2007 to 2009.

In addition to their educational degrees, Derek has obtained several certifications. In 2021, they obtained the "Communicating Across Cultures" certification from LinkedIn. In 2020, they received certifications in "Learning Secure Payments and PCI," "Skills for Inclusive Conversations," "Confronting Bias: Thriving Across Our Differences," "Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging," and "Unconscious Bias" from LinkedIn. In 2020, they also completed the "Introduction To Blockchain Technologies" certification from Coursera. Prior to that, in 2018, Derek obtained the "Supply Chain Logistics" certification from Coursera and the "ServiceNow Fundamentals" certification from ServiceNow. Lastly, in 2021, Derek achieved the "Sumo Logic Fundamentals Certified" and "Sumo Logic Search Mastery Certified" certifications from Sumo Logic.
