Celia Carey (she/her)

Program Director at Springboard Collaborative

Born in Germany and raised as an Army brat, Celia's early life was a tapestry of diverse cultures and locations, fostering her adaptability and rich cultural insight. She pursued her undergraduate studies at Hampton University, a notable historically Black college in Virginia, followed by a Master's in Educational Leadership from Dallas Baptist University.

Celia's professional journey has been equally dynamic, spanning roles from special education teacher and English educator to instructional lead. She notably served as an English Department Chair and later as the Director of Education at a prominent tutoring organization, where she developed key educational programs for Los Angeles area school districts.

Now based in Burbank, CA, Celia balances her professional achievements with a love for the simpler joys in life. She cherishes beach days with her son, travel, creative writing, and quality moments with friends, family, and her puppy, Bluey. She also holds a deep appreciation for poetry, inspired by her favorite childhood book, Shel Silverstein's "Where the Sidewalk Ends."
