Peter Kukla

Peter Kukla has extensive experience in geosciences, currently serving as the Speaker of the Deans and the Dean of the Faculty of Georesources and Materials Engineering at RWTH Aachen University since July 2000. In addition to these roles, Peter Kukla holds the position of Professor and Director of the Geological Institute, and leads the Steering Committee for the Profile Area of Energy, Chemicals & Process Engineering. Peter Kukla is also an Editorial Board Member and Topic Editor for the International Journal of Earth Sciences at Springer Publishing Company since 2016. Previous positions include Head of the Georesources Department at Fraunhofer Institution for Energy Infrastructures and Geothermal Systems IEG from June 2020 to May 2022, and various geologist roles at Woodside Energy Ltd. and Shell. Peter Kukla earned a PhD in Geology from the University of the Witwatersrand and a Diplom in Geology from The Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg.
