Shelly Li

CEO at Sprout

Shelly Li is the CEO of Sprout, a previous Business Analyst at McKinsey & Company, and Investment Banking Analyst at Morgan Stanley.

Shelly Li graduated from college in 2012 and their first job was as an intern at the City of Durham. Shelly then became a field organizer for Obama for America during their re-election campaign. After Obama was elected to a second term, Shelly became a strategy intern for a consulting company that served nonprofits in North Carolina.

In 2013, Shelly began working as an investment banking analyst at Morgan Stanley. Shelly rotated through the Transportation and Industrials groups and worked on multiple live M&A transactions. Shelly also created and presented investment grade initiatives to a Fortune 500 auto company. In 2014, Shelly was invited back to both IBD groups for Summer 2014.

In May 2014, Shelly began working as a business analyst at McKinsey & Company. Shelly served companies in the advanced industries space through the recovery and transformation services (RTS) practice. In Summer 2015, Shelly was invited back to the firm as a BA starting Summer 2015.

In August 2015, Shelly became the CEO of Sprout.

Shelly Li attended Millard North High School and earned their high school diploma. Shelly later attended Duke University where they earned a B.S. in Economics and a B.A. in Philosophy. Shelly then attended the University of Oxford where they studied Philosophy, Politics, and Economics.
