Huw Rees

Huw Rees is a Field Application Scientist at SPT Labtech, where responsibilities include supporting customers with liquid-handling instrumentation through technical presentations, documentation, and on-site workflow optimization. Prior to this role, Huw served as a Graduate Student Researcher and PhD candidate at the University of Chicago, focusing on Structural RNA biology and protein engineering under Professor Joseph Piccirilli. Huw also gained experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Organic Chemistry, as well as through internships at Public Health England and the British Geological Survey. Huw holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Chicago and a Master’s Degree in Chemistry from the University of York.
