D. Darnell Smith

D. Darnell Smith has an extensive work experience in the field of information technology. Currently, they hold the position of Chief Information Officer at SPX Corporation since July 2022. Previously, they served as the Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Standard Textile from September 2019 to June 2022. Before that, they worked as the Chief Information Officer at City of Raleigh from January 2016 to August 2019. Prior to these roles, they held various positions at Elster, including Vice President, Group IT (CIO) from January 2011 to December 2015, and Director, Americas IT from December 2006 to December 2010. Furthermore, Smith gained experience at E. I. DuPont, where they served as the Global SAP and North America Service Delivery Manager from March 2005 to December 2006, the North America Service Delivery Manager from September 2003 to March 2005, and the I.T. Manager for Charleston, SC/Chattanooga, TN from January 2000 to September 2003.

D. Darnell Smith holds an MBA degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. In addition to their formal education, Smith has also obtained certifications in ITIL Foundation from Loyalist Certification Services and Six Sigma Greenbelt from DuPont.
