Robert Gomes-Smith

Robert Gomes-Smith has extensive experience in finance, having worked in various capacities across multiple companies since 1991. Currently serving as Finance Controller EMEA at SPX Corporation, Robert has improved reporting processes and significantly reduced overdue debtors while facilitating an 80% sales growth in 2020. Previously, at Smith & Nephew, Robert held positions as Commercial Controller for the European Reconstruction Business and the Advanced Bearings Systems, where responsibilities included finance leadership, cost control, and risk mitigation, resulting in substantial savings and effective support for various teams. Earlier roles at MG Rover and the Rover Group contributed to skills in performance management, financial evaluations, and team development. Robert holds a BA Hons in Business Studies from Nottingham Trent University.
