Deepak Balakrishna has over two decades of experience in product management, product strategy, pricing, competitive analysis, GTM, and other product functions. In 2021, they are currently working as the Head of Product at Squadcast, an incident management platform with SRE features, and as an independent Product Management Consultant. Previously, they were the CTO - SaaS Security at Qualys, which they joined after Qualys acquired their company Adya in 2019. At Adya, they were the Co-Founder and CEO. From 2014 to 2019, they were the Senior Director of Product Management at Druva, a cloud security company. From 2007 to 2014, they were the Senior Director of Product Management at Riverbed Technology, a WAN Optimization solutions provider. From 2003 to 2007, they were the Senior Product Manager at Spirent Communications, a provider of automated test and assurance solutions. From 2001 to 2003, they were the Senior Product Manager at Sun Microsystems, a computer systems and software provider. Deepak began their career in 1997 as a Principal Consultant at Netscape Communications, where they helped Fortune 500 clients take their first steps into the internet era.

Deepak Balakrishna has an educational background that includes a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of California, Berkeley, a Master's Degree in Computer Science from Cornell University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka. Additionally, they have obtained certifications from Microsoft, Amazon Web Services (AWS), and Google, including Microsoft Certified Azure Fundamentals - AZ-900 (August 2020), Amazon Web Services Developer - Associate (November 2019), Amazon Web Services Solutions Architect Associate (October 2019), and Google Cloud Certified - Associate Cloud Engineer (February 2020).
