Asgeir Birkisson is a highly experienced quantitative researcher currently working at Squarepoint Capital since August 2016. Prior to this role, Asgeir served as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Oxford from July 2014 to December 2015 and gained early experience as a derivatives trading desk intern at Kaupthing Bank in June 2008. Asgeir holds a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Applied Mathematics from the University of Oxford, awarded in 2014, as well as a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in the same field obtained in 2009.
