Sean Coughlan

Sean Coughlan is a skilled software developer currently working at Squarepoint Capital since November 2022. Prior to this role, Sean worked as a KDB+ Engineer at KX, contributing to the core development team of the KX Surveillance product. Sean's experience as a Data Scientist at First Derivatives involved collaboration on KDB+ projects for Tier 1 investment bank clients, focusing on developing and supporting a stock position keeping system and a large data warehouse. Earlier career experiences include roles at Dassault Systèmes, where Sean tested software and automated reliability tests, as well as a volunteer position at Galway Film Fleadh, recognized as Volunteer of the Year. Sean holds a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from University College Cork and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Galway.
