Tom Ovens

Tom OVENS is a Quantitative Researcher at Squarepoint Capital since August 2020, focusing on quantitative research in fixed income, inflation, and macroeconomic factors. Previously, Tom worked as an Assistant Developer for Artificial Intelligence R&D at BALLIN, contributing to the development of an AI system that detects players and balls in soccer videos using Python and various computer vision tools. A role as a Python/C++ Software Developer for 5G networks at Nokia involved significant collaboration on the Airphone project and the development of a 5G packet scheduler emulator. Tom's early experience includes military and sailing training as a Petty Officer First Class in the Marine Nationale. Educational accomplishments include a Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering from ISAE-SUPAERO, postgraduate courses in Artificial Intelligence from Nanyang Technological University, and a background in Mathematics and Physics from Lycée Blaise Pascal.
