Maths didn’t come easily to me. I struggled until discovering I’m neurodiverse. That moment changed everything. It helped me understand why traditional methods hadn’t worked for me and inspired me to teach and tutor the way I do today.

At SquareRoetsMaths, I help students find clarity and build confidence through personalised online lessons that make sense to them. Every learner’s path is different, and progress only begins when they see that understanding, not memorising, is the key to their success.

Over the years, through teaching, reflection, and ongoing training, I’ve learned there’s no single path to learning Maths. Each student brings a different way of thinking, and that’s what makes it so rewarding for me as a teacher and tutor. I adapt my tutoring to meet individual needs: using structure where it helps, employing visual strategies when clarification is needed, and providing encouragement at every step.

Lessons focus on understanding and linking the topics, and we build confidence as we work through maths problems. Students learn to recognise patterns, apply their skills flexibly, and approach new challenges with calm assurance. Many begin anxious but rediscover their ability, and some even return years later for final exam support, remembering how it felt to finally understand Maths.

Here, we don’t fear mistakes; we learn from them. Confidence grows from clarity, and progress comes from reflection. Every step forward counts.

Real progress begins when students stop fearing mistakes and start learning from them.
