Des Mossop

Des Mossop is a seasoned engineering geologist with extensive experience in geotechnical consulting and management. Currently serving as Partner and Principal Engineering Geologist at SRK Consulting since August 2014, Des leads the Mining Geotechnics division. Prior to this role, Des held positions at Anglo American, including Principal Rock Engineer and Chief Rock Engineer, where responsibilities encompassed geotechnical oversight, departmental management, and operational reviews. Des also managed the geotechnical department at Palabora Mining Company Limited and began a career in geotechnical roles at Iscor Mining. Des holds a Bachelor of Technology in Engineering Geology from Tshwane University of Technology.
