Fermín Garate

Fermín Garate is the Practice Leader for Infrastructure at SRK Consulting in Buenos Aires, with over fifteen years of experience in infrastructure design, particularly within mining projects. They actively participated in large-scale engineering initiatives, including the design of the Potasio Río Colorado terminal and the Pascua Lama binational project, and contributed to tunneling projects involving soil-structure interaction analysis and concrete technology. Fermín was part of the team that developed conceptual engineering and cost analysis for project closures at Lama and Veladero mines. Currently, they lead teams in the design and quality assurance of tailings dams and reinforcement works across Argentina, Mexico, India, and Saudi Arabia. Fermín holds a degree in Civil Engineering from the Universidad de Buenos Aires.
