Bill Smith

Bill Smith is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in operations management and metallurgical engineering. Currently serving as the General Manager of Operations at SSAB Wear Services since September 2014, Bill oversees the manufacture of fabricated parts and repair services for various industries including mining and agriculture. Additionally, as Managing Director at SSAB Wear and Value Added Solutions since September 2013, Bill focuses on producing carbide overlay products. Prior roles include Director of Continuous Improvement at SSAB since February 1999, where Bill developed and implemented an international deployment program, and Vice President of Logistics at Tuscaloosa Steel. With a strong foundation in metallurgical engineering from the University of Alabama and multiple Six Sigma certifications, Bill combines technical expertise with leadership experience to drive operational excellence across organizations.
