Carl Orrling

Carl Orrling is an accomplished executive with extensive experience in the steel industry, currently serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Technology Officer at SSAB since September 2009. Orrling has held various leadership roles within SSAB, including Vice President of Strategic Technical Development and Head of Research and Development for SSAB Europe, overseeing research, product development, and advanced technical support along the value chain. Prior to joining SSAB, Orrling worked at Bethlehem Steel/International Steel Group as a Research Engineer. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. and Master's in Materials Science and Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and a Master of Science in Materials Science and Engineering from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, supplemented by military training as a Lieutenant in Marine Infantry.
