Jonas Lagergren

Jonas Lagergren is a seasoned expert in the steel industry with extensive experience spanning over three decades, primarily at SSAB and Union Electric Åkers. Since November 2017, Jonas has held the role of Principal Specialist at SSAB Special Steels, focusing on long-term process development and improvements. Prior to this, Jonas served in various capacities at Union Electric Åkers, including Technical Service Manager and Sr Application Manager, where responsibilities included executing mill surveys, advising on rolling practices, and developing technical services for customers across the EMEA region. Jonas's earlier career includes a research management role at Jernkontoret and a long tenure at SSAB, where contributions were made in process development, quality control, and project management within hot strip rolling. Jonas holds a doctorate in Metal Working from KTH Royal Institute of Technology and has a background in Industrial Engineering and Management from Linköping University.
