Philip Walter

Philip Walter is an experienced professional in the fields of operations and management, with a career spanning several decades. Currently serving as a Mentor at SSAFA the Armed Forces charity since April 2024, Philip previously held various executive roles at CDS Defence & Security, Bailie Group, and Newspress between 2014 and 2024, contributing significantly as Group COO and Executive Director. Prior to this, Philip was Business Development & Assurance Director at Phoenix IT Group, where responsibilities included overseeing extensive IT Managed Services. Early career experiences include operating as Managing Director of Phoenix IT Services GmbH in Germany and a Weapons Engineer Officer in the Royal Navy. Philip holds a BSc(Hons) in Technology from The Open University, an HNC in Engineering & Management from the Royal Navy Engineering College, and has completed further education at the Institute of Directors and Cranfield School of Management.
