David Small

David Small has over 25 years of experience in the energy trading sector, currently serving as the Head of Energy Management Centre at SSE plc since October 2012. In this role, David creates value and motivates high-performance teams for the success of the short-term energy portfolio while supporting 24/7 shift trading teams in managing the GB and Ireland energy markets. David's previous positions include Business Delivery Manager, where responsibilities encompassed project management and stakeholder engagement for ISEM market changes, and EMC Operations and Prompt Trading Manager, managing operational trading teams and optimizing the SSE energy portfolio. David's earlier roles also consist of Prompt Trader and Senior Operations Trader at SSE, focusing on trading, optimizing, and risk managing energy portfolios. David holds a BSc Hons in Environmental Technology from Abertay University.
