Mark Rowlands

Mark Rowlands is a seasoned IT professional with extensive experience at SSE plc, where currently serves as the Head of Solution Delivery Networks since May 2015. In this role, Mark manages multiple teams focused on IT Support and Development for Transmission and Distribution within Networks, emphasizing digital strategies that enhance social and economic value while supporting net zero carbon emissions. Mark's previous positions at SSE include Networks IT Delivery Manager and Networks DevOps Team Manager, both emphasizing team leadership and operational support for various applications. Prior to these roles, Mark contributed to SSE's growth through positions such as Power Systems and Maximo Team Lead, where responsibilities expanded to multiple teams in GIS and Oracle. Mark holds a degree in Environmental Chemistry from the University of Plymouth and has a strong foundation in Oracle and Unix applications from earlier roles as an Analyst Programmer.
