Rafael Rigoni

Rafael Rigoni is an experienced electrical engineer with a diverse background in system planning, design, and consultancy. Currently serving as the DSO Regional System Planning Manager at SSE plc since January 2018, Rafael has held multiple roles including System Planning Engineer and Network Planning Engineer, focusing on electricity network design and quotations. Prior experience includes over thirteen years as a self-employed Consultant Electrical Engineer, where Rafael specialized in commercial and technical contracts, installation oversight, GHG emissions reporting, and sustainable projects. From 1994 to 2004, Rafael worked at Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd. in roles such as Sales Engineer and Senior Maintenance Engineer, leveraging expertise in telecommunications and power systems, contract analysis, and maintenance management across international markets. Rafael holds a Master's degree in Renewable Energy: Technology and Sustainability from the University of Reading and an Electrical Engineering degree from the Federal University of Technology - Parana.
