Struan Young

Struan Young has a diverse work experience in the field of internal communications. Struan started their career in 2008 as an Internal Communications Manager at British Gas Debt, where they worked until 2010. Struan then joined Scottish Gas as an Internal Communications Manager from 2010 to 2012. After that, Struan worked at British Gas as a Brand Manager from 2012 to 2013 and later as an Internal Communications Manager for Change Projects from 2013 to 2014.

In 2013, Struan joined Centrica, where they held various internal communications roles. Struan worked as an Internal Communications Business Partner for Finance, MI, Legal, Regulatory and Change Programmes from 2013 to 2016. This was followed by their role as an Internal Communications Consultant for Corporate, Leadership and Change Programmes from 2016 to 2018. Finally, they served as an Internal Communications Consultant for Centrica Consumer, UK Home from 2018 to 2020, where they were responsible for developing the internal communications strategy and channel framework.

Currently, Struan is working as the Head of Internal Communications - Distribution at SSE plc, starting from 2020.

Struan Young attended Edinburgh Napier University from 2002 to 2006, where they completed a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Animal Biology.
