Tom Black

Tom Black is an experienced professional in community investment and development, currently serving as the Senior Community Investment Manager at SSE plc since March 2023, where responsibilities include managing a team and coordinating the full cycle of community fund delivery in the North of Scotland. In addition, Tom holds a public appointment as a Committee Member for the Scottish Land Fund since June 2021, participating in decisions on significant funding awards. A background in community funds management spans over a decade, including roles at Foundation Scotland and the Development Trusts Association Scotland, where Tom provided vital support and guidance to community organizations. Educational qualifications include a Master of Arts in Environmental Policy & Management from the University of Gloucestershire and a Bachelor of Arts in Geography with Philosophy from the University of Sunderland.
