John A. Smith

John A. Smith, CESCP, serves as an instructor for the 2nd year electrical apprenticeship at Jatc Apprenticeship since February 2023. With extensive experience since April 2010 at SSOE Group as Director of Electrical Safety within the Arc Flash AT Business Group, Senior Designer, and Electrical Inspector, as well as at Evergreen EDC as Electrical Inspector, Plan Review, and Designer, Smith holds multiple roles including Senior Electrical Designer and Class A Electrical Inspector. Previously, from September 2005 to May 2010, Smith was an adjunct faculty member, instructing 3rd year electrical apprenticeship students at Chemeketa Community College, covering essential topics in electrical systems and equipment. Additional experience includes serving as Facilities Electrical Supervisor at Shipyard Commerce Center, a division of Vigor Industrial, from November 2008 to April 2010. Smith is recognized as a Certified Electrical Safety Compliance Professional and has an educational background from Naval Nuclear Power School and Prototype, completing studies in electrical systems for nuclear power plants.
