James Downing is a Principal Engineer and R&D manager at STMicroelectronics, where they lead the Optical Metasurface R&D team and manage the design of optical architectures. With a solid background in optical design, image and signal processing, and diffractive optics, James has contributed significantly to the development of time-of-flight products and illumination systems.
