Robert Nicol

Robert Nicol is an experienced Technology Development Manager at STMicroelectronics since March 2004, specializing in R&D applications of machine learning and artificial intelligence. Nicol has held various leadership roles, including Manager of Electro-Optical Characterisation and Simulation, Imager Technologist and Imaging Pixel Characterisation Manager, and Sensor Technologist, focusing on sensor performance and electro-optical characterisation. Prior experience includes positions at MicroVue Limited, MicroPix Technologies Limited, Seagate Microelectronics Limited, GEC Plessey Semiconductors, and the University of Glasgow, contributing significantly to process development and manufacturing in the semiconductor field. Nicol holds a PhD in Fabrication and Characterization of Ultra-small Tunnel Junctions from the University of Glasgow and a BEng(Hons) in Engineering with Microelectronics from Glasgow Caledonian University.
