Simone Guarnera is currently a Technology Development Engineer at STMicroelectronics. They previously served as a Technology Development Senior Engineer and conducted research at the Center for Nanoscience and Technology of IIT during their PhD candidacy in Physics, focusing on highly stable solar cells. Simone also gained experience as an R&D Engineer at the Istituto Italiano di Tecnologia and as an Account Manager at Semiconductor Manufacturing International Corporation. They interned at Politecnico di Milano and held a visiting researcher position at the University of Oxford, where they specialized in the fabrication and characterization of perovskite-based solar cells. They earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Physical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano.
