Devon Schmidt

Devon Schmidt currently serves as the Director of Finance for the City of St Pete Beach, a position held since March 2025. Prior to this role, Devon was the Chief Financial Officer for the City of Durango from September 2019 to March 2025, where responsibilities included managing a $170 million budget and leading a team of thirty staff members across multiple departments. Other notable positions within the City of Durango included Acting Chief Financial Officer, Budget and Strategic Plan Officer, Budget and Strategic Planning Manager, and Acting Finance Director, all focused on budget management and strategic planning. Earlier experience includes roles as a Grants Contract Manager at the City of Durango and Contract Manager at La Plata County, along with a position as a Government Billing Analyst at CSX Transportation. Devon Schmidt holds a Master’s Degree in Management from Colorado State University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from Fort Lewis College.
