Sergey Panitkin is a physicist, data scientist, and engineer with a strong focus on high-performance computing (HPC) and machine learning. Currently serving as an HPC Consultant at Mila - Quebec Artificial Intelligence Institute and as the Head of HPC at Stability AI, they are involved in leveraging supercomputers for large-scale machine learning models. Previously, Sergey worked at Brookhaven National Laboratory for over a decade as a Senior Application Engineer, where they were integral to the ATLAS Collaboration at CERN and played a key role in developing distributed computing infrastructure. Additionally, they held positions as Associate and Assistant Physicist, contributing significantly to the STAR Collaboration at RHIC. Sergey is pursuing a Master's degree in Nuclear Physics at the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI, having already earned a Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics from Stony Brook University.
