Maria Lyons has extensive experience in UX design, starting with their role as a Principal UX Designer at Stable Kernel in 2022. Prior to that, they were a Senior Lead UX Designer at AT&T from 2004-2021, where they were part of an internal innovation and strategy consulting group and won the 2016 Tech Dev President's Award for AT&T Data Patterns. Maria was also a Senior Manager - UX Design at AT&T from 2004-2007 and was awarded a Service Excellence Award for their POS redesign. From 2013-2018, Maria volunteered as Chair of the Family Science Night at Morningside Elementary School, where they added designers and city planners to the lineup and mastered Google Docs to move the student registration process to free Google Forms. Maria began their career in 1999 as a User Interface Designer at AppForge, Inc., where they designed mobile apps, icons, and the company logo and tag line. From 1996-1997, Maria was an Exhibit Designer at Nth Degree as a co-op student, where they were introduced to UI design and chose to pursue a certificate in Engineering Psychology.

Maria Lyons obtained a Bachelor of Science - Co-op Degree in Industrial Design from the Georgia Institute of Technology in 1999. Maria also holds a certification in Storytelling for Designers from LinkedIn, which they obtained in April 2021.
