Tyler Mann

Senior Scientist at Stablix

Tyler Mann has worked at five different organizations since 2007. Tyler started as an Undergraduate Researcher and Laboratory Assistant at the University of Washington, where they extracted biological samples for DNA and hormones and performed PCR/capillary electrophoresis to analyze the DNA samples. Tyler also managed data for the project. In 2009, they became a Graduate Student at Boston College, where they independently developed new methods in olefin metathesis and applied them to the total synthesis of several natural products. In 2016, they joined the University of Minnesota as a Postdoctoral Researcher, where they studied the self assembly and phase behavior of aqueous lyotropic liquid crystals primarily with small-angle x-ray scattering (SAXS), eventually leading to the discovery of a lyotropic dodecagonal quasicrystal (DDQC). Tyler also worked on polymerization projects employing olefin metathesis and anionic polymerization techniques. In 2019, they became a Scientist at Enanta Pharmaceuticals. Most recently, in 2022, they joined Stablix, Inc. as a Senior Scientist.

Tyler Mann completed their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Organic Chemistry from Boston College in 2016. Prior to that, they earned a Bachelors of Science in Chemistry from the University of Washington in 2009.
